Which turtles is Archelon for?
Archelon is a complete floating diet for aquatic and semi-aquatic turtles that eat pellets at the water's surface. It is not formulated as a tortoise food.
How often and how much should I feed?
The package guide says to feed 1–2 times daily. Offer only what your turtle can consume in 5–10 minutes, adjust for its size, and remove uneaten food. See the full feeding guide on the label.
Do the pellets float, and how big are they?
Yes. Archelon is a 3.0 mm floating pellet, so food remains visible at the surface during feeding. The package contains 1 lb (454 g).
Formula & ingredients

What is the lead protein source?
Pacific Whiting leads the formula's marine protein story. The ingredient list also includes shrimp meal, krill meal, fish protein concentrate, and fish oil. Read the full ingredient statement.
What does 45% crude protein mean?
It is the minimum crude protein guaranteed on the package label. The guaranteed analysis lists the other nutrient minimums and maximums alongside it.
Why is the calcium-to-phosphorus ratio highlighted?
Calcium and phosphorus are important minerals for normal shell structure. Archelon's label highlights a 3:1 calcium-to-phosphorus balance and guarantees at least 3.0% calcium and 1.0% phosphorus.
Does it contain corn, soy, artificial colors, or ethoxyquin?
No. Those are the four exclusions stated on the package. Archelon does contain wheat and rice ingredients; you can review every ingredient on the full label.
Is Archelon preservative-free?
No. The ingredient statement lists calcium propionate as a preservative. The package specifically states that Archelon contains no ethoxyquin.
Where is Archelon made?
Archelon is made in the USA with globally sourced ingredients, as stated on the package.
